The thinnest of them all…

Nokia phones are by far the best (personal opinion). I have never used anything but a Nokia handset and probably never will either. Nokia has become the worlds largest mobile phone maker by conquering country after country but had lost market share in some regions due to the shifting trends and people’s taste in touch screen phones. After the release of the E71 which took the handset market by storm and became the most popular phone after the Blackberry due to it’s similar look and added features not to mention the brand name, Nokia has come out with a new model the Nokia E71x.

This handset is the thinnest smartphone in the U.S. being marketed at just $100 by the largest wireless carrier in the US, AT&T. It’s too bad that handset manufacturers like Nokia, SE, Samsung do not market their phones through local wireless carriers in Pakistan. An average phone that would cost a few $100 on retail would cost much less with the wireless carriers subsidizing them and selling them with contracts to their customers.

Anyways, This phone is for lack of a better word, AWESOME! But I think it will still have to fight to make it’s place in the market as iPhone and Blackberry have captured a large portion of the market with their latest handsets. Nokia on the other hand does have the added advantage of supporting a wide range of accessories and a huge library of compatiable apps. The SymbianOS alone is a preferred OS for alot of people due to it’s user-friendly GUI (graphical user interface).

Anyways, anyone who is not even a Nokia fan cannot argue that this phone has the potential to capture some market share.

So if you’re thinking of buying a new phone, maybe you might want to wait and let this handset reach Pakistan :P
